Today was a good day for daylight savings.
I was tired and I appreciated the "extra" hour of sleep. It's easier to get up at 6am with a toddler when you know it's really 7am. When I was a kid I loved today...it meant we had at least another week of not waking up for school in the dark.
I wonder what memories L. will have of the time change as she grows up. The difference is much less pronounced here in the South.
Today felt like a fall day. It was grey, windy, muggy, but surprisingly warm.
It was a lazy day. I spent a lot of time thinking about everything that is coming up in the next few months. Birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years...The extra hour today seemed to give me space to process everything.
For me, daylight savings is the sign that the end of the year is really approaching. I start making lists in my head.
It's the starting line for everything else I have (and want) to fit in this year.
What does daylight savings mean for you?
Daylight savings means my kids all get up earlier than I think they ought to! We had a rainy day today, though, so the light didn't seem much different. The rest of the week will be interesting... :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could say having my kiddo get up earlier would be a good thing! Hope the rest of your week is going well!
