~Love the Place You Live: San Antonio~

Just for the record, I don't live in San Antonio. But I like to visit San Antonio. I consider it part of where we live since it's the next closest city to our own. It's only a 2.5 hour drive and we visit fairly frequently to see friends and enjoy the sights. San Antonio has a zoo and a children's museum. Not to mention the Alamo, River Walk, and Sea World.
A lovely summer day on the river walk.
The long barracks at the Alamo.
An incredibly old Oak tree at the Alamo.
One of many obligatory tourist shots in front of the Alamo.
In December the trees on the River Walk are wrapped in lights.
It's beautiful!
I suppose I should share some pictures from the Children's museum, zoo, and Sea World too. Sea World was entirely overwhelming the first time we went but I've realized you just have to break it down into parts. Focus on the animals one visit, Sesame Street another (they have a whole Sesame Street section with shows and characters and splash park), and water park another...
Sweet birds at the San Antonio zoo.
Grocery shopping at the Children's Museum (L was so small in this picture!).
The coolest (only) sea lion I've ever met at Sea World.
If it's not a good day for the beach, it's nice to have so many other options relatively close to home!

  1. We lived in Houston when I was young, and one of the only things I remember about living there is visiting San Antonio...don't know if that says anything about Houston, but anyway I have fond memories of visiting the petting zoo in San Antonio with my grandma. I'd love to see it as an adult!

    1. It's funny, Houston is only slightly further than San Antonio (well, another couple hours) and we haven't managed to make it there the whole time we've lived here. I hear they have a nice zoo though...They still have goats you can pet and brush in San Antonio : )

  3. There is a great little eating place near the River Walk that my husband took me to the last time we were there. I don't know if you like root beer, but they have the absolute best root beer that I have ever tasted! I honestly want to go back just for the root beer (even though the chicken salad sandwich was quite good also). Sorry, I can't remember the name of the place right now ~ my husband would remember. I could drink a nice cold frosty glass right now!
